Marilyn Georgina Barnes

In memory of our mum Marilyn who died from lung cancer in 2003. Mum you got so sick so quick as it was so fast growing and aggressive. We wanted to do this for our mum. We miss and love you so dearly. Mum you were so special in so many ways. You were always there to listen and help us, but let us make our own decisions and choices. You are with the angels now mum without the pain. You are not alone, Stewart is with you (your son who died of cot death at 4 months) and your mum and dad. Love and misss you lots every day.

When i think about the old days,
I want them back again,
Our house was always happy,
And full of laughter then.

We'd all be there together,
Content in every way,
Then the mainstay of the family,
Simply went away.

We, all of us, do the best we can,
But it will never be the same,
We can't tell you how often,
We all still speak your name.

All i wish is that once more,
Before i lower the light,
I could only kiss you on the cheek,

Dearest mum xx

If only you had told us, mum,
Before we had to part,
Just how we'd ever find a way,
To heal our broken hearts.

I know that you'd have found the words,
To help us understand,
Just how we'd carry on,
Without our dear mum's guiding hand.

If only you could hold us,
To dry the tears we cry,
Then perhaps it wouldn't hurt so much,
For us to say goodbye.

Mum

God saw she was getting tired,
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around her,
And whispered " Come to me",
With tearful eyes we watched her suffer,
And saw her fade away,
Although we loved her dearly,
We could not make her stay,
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
